The Jurassic Coast is well worth a visit for fossil hunting, beaches and stunning walks. Our favourite spot being Lyme Regis, with its picturesque harbour and fantastic selection of places to eat such as Mark Hix seafood restaurant (18 miles)
Other lovely coastal villages are Beer, Branscombe, Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth and Exmouth.
There are various places to hire paddleboards at the above coastal spots, as well as fishing and boat trips.
The South West Coast Path is England's longest waymarked footpath and a National Trail.

The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth is a lovely large dog friendly sanctuary for rescued donkeys, free admission and café, 15 min walk from Weston beach or just a few miles from Sidmouth beach (18 miles)
Ferne Animal Sanctuary is set in 72 acres of Somerset countryside, the sanctuary is home to 300 resident animals. Check the website for admission fees and what’s on (6 miles)
Blackdown Hills Dog Park - prior booking required to use this 6 acre park with mixed terrain, activity areas, agility and stunning Dartmoor views (9 miles)
