We have two fantastic local pubs - The York Inn is a 30 minute walk and The Sidmouth Arms is an hours walk, as well as many more in the surrounding villages.

The Candlelight Inn - 17th century gastro pub is 4.7 miles away (one of our faves!)

The Cotley Inn -  award winning quintessential country pub nestled in the Cotley estate (7 miles)

Being located in the Blackdown Hills AONB, you will find plenty of walks straight from the doorstep.

Otterford Lakes Nature Reserve is just 3 miles away.

Dartmoor & Exmoor National Parks are both within an hours drive & are a dream for hiking and cycling!

Numerous National Trust sites across Devon, Somerset & Dorset including Dumpdon Hill Fort (7 miles)

The Jurassic Coast is well worth a visit for fossil hunting, beaches and stunning walks. Our favourite spot being Lyme Regis, with its picturesque harbour and fantastic selection of places to eat such as Mark Hix seafood restaurant (18 miles)  

Other lovely coastal villages are Beer, Branscombe, Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth and Exmouth.

There are various places to hire paddleboards at the above coastal spots, as well as fishing and boat trips.

The South West Coast Path is England's longest waymarked footpath and a National Trail.

Otterton Mill - working water mill with bakery, farm shop and café serving delicious afternoon tea (25 miles)

Sheppy's Cider Farm - fantastic farm shop with variety of local produce (11 miles)

Darts Farm - huge farm shop, deli bar, café, restaurant & fish shed are perfect for the ultimate foodie (25 miles)

Heron Farm Vineyard tours, as well as café & shop (10 miles)

Devon Country Pursuits for a range of outdoor activities including axe throwing, clay shooting, quad bikes, archery and more (14 miles)

The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth is a lovely large dog friendly sanctuary for rescued donkeys, free admission and café, 15 min walk from Weston beach or just a few miles from Sidmouth beach (18 miles)

Ferne Animal Sanctuary is set in 72 acres of Somerset countryside, the sanctuary is home to 300 resident animals. Check the website for admission fees and what’s on (6 miles)

Blackdown Hills Dog Park - prior booking required to use this 6 acre park with mixed terrain, activity areas, agility and stunning Dartmoor views (9 miles)

Honiton is a market town famous for its lace and pottery and being regarded as the antiques capital of the South West (8 miles)

Exeter is a vibrant ancient city located on the River Exe. It offers a variety of visitor attractions including its unique Underground Passages, free Red Coat Guided Tours, magnificent Cathedral, imposing Roman wall & beautiful Quayside (25 miles)

Taunton has a wide selection of shops, restaurants & bars, with The Taunton Independent Market held once a month showcasing over 65 of the South West’s best artisan traders (10 miles)
